It's been N years i did not step into central market, until few weeks ago, probably last month, i went there again with my friend, just to hang around and observe the different environment.
"Located along Jalan Hang Kasturi, a few minutes away from Petaling Street, Central Market which was built in 1888 was originally a wet market."
"The Kuala Lumpur Central Market located at Jalan Hang Kasturi (Rodger Street) was built in the years 1888 and 1889 at a construction cost of $48,000.00.The Market was subsequently expanded in the years 1895, 1920 and 1921. Up to the year 1933, the cost of extension had gone up to 167,000,00."

After 121 years of revolutions and modernization, a lot of changes has been done in CM. Not only it changed to "so-called" dry-market, it has since being classified as a Heritage Site by the Malaysian Heritage Society and it is now a landmark for Malaysian Culture and Heritage displaying a wide variety of Malaysian Arts and Handicrafts, Batik, Antiques and attractive souvenirs.
A shop selling ancient wood statue..real cool!
"It's better not to snap the statue because there may have some invited spirit inside the statue, so a close-up shoot is prohibited." A statement made by my friend.

"man-nin-cheng"
Well, it's a really good idea to explore and understand more about our culture if we do not have any place to visit, perhaps in the middle of the process we can learn something that we do not know even though we stay here for quite a long time. Life is not about digging out our bad events and negative thinking, sit recklessly and feel helpless, but to grow up and explore the journey we yet to discover, just like the man-nin-cheng, no matter what is the weather, no matter where it is, either in pots or soil land, it still grows towards the sunlight in order to survive, and make the environment more cheerful and relaxing colourful.
