Hill Of Light 26 Nov 2009

“RRRiiiing!!!!!”….. The clock embedded in the Sony Ericsson’s phone rang at 7am. It’s time to wake up and prepare my 1-day cycling trip at Bukit Cahaya, located at Shah Alam. We had discussed to gather at PJ before we move to the destination. After a cup of coffee, I grabbed all my gears and roll out from my house. I met Yaw Cheung at his house and from there, as we drove to PJ to fetch others friends.

Bukit Cahaya was once known as Taman Pertanian where most of the plant species are kept here. However, there are several activities can be organized here nowadays such as jogging, cycling, fishing and some extreme games such as Skytrex, Flying fox and Cargo net. Our main objective in this park today was cycling. It’s been a few years I had not touch my bicycle, wondering myself able to cycle with the rusted skill.

After we reach there, we stood and sit for about 20 minutes just to wait for another guy who late for the activity…KongXY was the name, stay at Klang and the nearest from Shah Alam comparing us (PJ)

This is the picture we took at the entrance of the park.

For the activity we had there, it costs less than RM10 including the parking which is RM 1, entrance fee RM 3, and the rental fee of bicycle RM 3 for the first hour, and RM 1 for the following hour.

Once we reached the bicycle hut around 10.35am, we chose “the-best-bicycle-you-can-found-there”. Some of the bicycle there were not working, either its brake system of the gear mechanism, but some of it is really in good condition. Depends on your luck and observation, you might find a good bike there.

We moved out from the staring point, cycling towards the hill. It was so great at the beginning of the cycling session, after 20 minutes, I started to sweat, exhausted and my knee feel numb. It simply indicates that I had not had cycling for a long period of time. We decided to take a short break as we felt exhausted in the initial state.

We moved again to the next destination which is about 10 minutes distance. There is a tower built near a lake. It wasn’t a splendid scene as we expected because the water of the lake is in dark green-brownish color. But, we saw a “sign” from the top of the tower. A sign that points out danger of the human kind. THERE IS CIRCLE CROP…A MALAYSIAN MADE CIRCLE CROP!! Hahahahaha.

We take another short break at the top of the tower about 5 minutes and continue back to our journey.

Initially, we were cycling with another group of friends, but we were “abandoned” because of our slowness. But it’s definitely fine, we could enjoy in our way. We continue cycling to another directionless destination. Where there’s a road, and that is our path. We come along a road which requires a lot of courage to carry on.

JALAN BERANI (wondering is there any Jalan Berahi )

However, two young and brave skinny guys make up his guts and challenge the dead path. He cycled up the trail about 20 meters and then speed up down to our side. Very thumbs up for them!

Kong and Gaven the rempitzz~~

We move again…and came across a tiny pond at the side of the road, the tiny pond was so clear and there are some fishes live in it. The sun shines onto the pond, reflects the pond making it looks blurs. A colorful dragonfly was found near the pond and I decided to use macro shot to capture it down. However, my camera capability limits me to take a quality shot.

Finally, we reached to the terminal of the park, which is the highest point of somewhere of the park, and the most worthy place to be visited. Given the named “taman empangan baru”, a medium size of dam is built there and some fishing activities can be done here.

Fishes swim in anti-clockwise direction endlessly.

Fishes are kept in the fixed size square.

Hot sunny day promotes everybody to drink icy cold 100 plus which sold at price RM 2. Do you guys earn salary from 100 plus for the advertisement??

CHEERS!!

The only 3 86’s young man in the group.

It’s time to back. We cycle back at around 1300. It’s hell hot at that time. We have to rest several times to back to the starting point. The greatest time is when we speeding down the slope like rempit..wow, the feeling is indescribable. Now I understand what rempit feels when they speeding, although it involves the danger risk.

Nice to have this kinda activity once in awhile.
